Linux celebrates 20 years being one of the safest and most profitable investments... Despite being a software free

I am an empiricist total of everything that is the internet and much of what is now so have learned on the basis of many mistakes that I made to my early days.

One of these errors was thought for example that the paid software I was much better that one free. The truth is that the home he didn't even know there was software that is distributed completely free of charge.

When looking for the best company for hosting and domains for sale was the first time that I discovered that free software and all of them gave me the option to buy that service on a server that ran under the "Windows" platform and another that was cheaper that ran in the "linux" platform (there was the first time that I heard) (for Linux).

I looked at with suspicion that called "linux", and I leaned immediately to buy the more expensive server in "Windows" thing that was a very serious mistake then I discovered a series of free programs that could not be used to run only on Linux platform (was the case for example of WordPress)(, Joomla and Drupal but now run on both platforms).

I immediately switched to Linux and I could use a series of free tools that now exist and that make the technology of the internet is so democratic and economic and all this is mainly due to the Linux platformIt's totally free and that today celebrates 20 years of anniversary.

Linux is without a doubt one of the safe and profitable investments that broke all the schemes of business models from a free distribution of your program which is also totally free developed by a number of anonymous contributors around the world and where the Linux Foundation solely is responsible for coordinating these efforts.

But... If everything is free where is the business? How is that Linux can win money from the internet it?

The issue is simple, while the software is free a number of services or applications that are used with the same can be charged as well for example Google's operating system for mobile phone or smartphone, called AndroidIt is precisely based on Linux and its distribution is free but the telephone and the telephone service is not.

Linux, is today used in such popular sites like Facebook and Twitter.

Look at the following commercial Linux which was disclosed in the Superbowl of United States in 2003, it has been translated into the Spanish and reflects all the philosophy of Linux as a program to which everyone can contribute and teach:

Then a second video which is entirely in English and that sums up the 20 years of Linux:

Linux has the following basic premises that have made it so popular and revolutionary:

1. Freedom to use the software for any purpose. 2. Freedom to change the software according to your own necesidades.3. Freedom to share the software with your friends and vecinos.4. Freedom to share the changes you've made.

Congratulations Linux on these 20 years, their collaborators and the revolution that involved its new business model that although free software has become one of the safest and most cost-effective investments that exist on the internet.
