We continue with the development of the fifth case of proposed the above-mentioned contest winners in the post ideas for web solutions to social problems, in this article we are going to see the case of Homeless SMS.

Homeless SMS, that translated into the Spanish would be something like; SMS for those who are homeless, is an initiative of idea of mobile technology solution that offers free SMS for homeless people to help find relevant services for them.

This service is still in test phase and 2 days ago has just launched its first prototype that is not yet open to the public, and it works only for England, however it can be used as a model solution for similar problems throughout the worldespecially in poor countries or developing.

The problem of persons who are homeless is a global problem affected not only the poor countries but also developing and also developed, widened the major gaps in distribution of income throughout the world.

It tries to provide relevant information for people homeless as e.g. all kinds of services near your location, free of charge and through mobile or cell phones in the form of SMS or text messages.

It also put in contact to the largest number of service providers for homeless people just with your target audience to thus improve communications and services necessary to solve this problem.

In itself the idea is very good but not only for this problem sdino which can be widely used for a variety of social problems that require or need to distribute useful, relevant information and the necessary time to your target audience or beneficiaries.

You can also devise a similar service in your area and even in the world in a way that put technology at the service of the most needy groups.
